The Value of Carers

In an industry that is completely unregulated, and where the initial training to carers is often of a poor quality.

Where “care agencies” are run by people who are not qualified medical professionals or even have an iota of medical knowledge.

Where there is no sense of business, professional support or personalised care...

Carers are often neglected, of poor quality, un-supported, un-accountable and ill prepared for the situations and circumstances in which they find themselves.

As a result; Carers themselves often have a low self-image and are insecure about the service they deliver. Yet others think of caring as a menial, rote job only. Nothing special or important. Anyone can do it…

BUT, at Caring With Heart we disagree.

Being a carer is a very important and valuable job.

Carers are the front-line of everyday care.

Carers bear the brunt of the client’s illness, mental state, pain and household upheaval.

Carers are there on the good days and the bad. Providing the care and comfort clients need.

Carers need guidance, professional training, support, follow up and encouragement.

Their physical and mental well- being are as important as that of the client.

At Caring With Heart, we are changing the South African view on carers and caring.

We chose our carers with care and caution- they need to have a heart for caring.

They must be trained and experienced with the potential for growth and on-going learning.

So at Caring With Heart:

We provide regular on-site training and updates

We provide support to carers by registered professionals

We communicate daily with them

We hold our carers accountable through daily communication, reports and updates

We encourage our carers to be the best, to be open to learning and to be professional, flexible and adaptable.

We encourage resilience, reliability and trustworthiness.

Our carers are learning and growing with each new experience and as they do so, our clients are receiving the benefit both of their care and their support system.

Clients are receiving the best possible care available.

This is our aim and objective.

We greatly appreciate and value or carers at Caring With Heart.
