Caring With Heart Assessments

Updated: Mar 26, 2021

Why does Caring With Heart believe that an adequate assessment of all potential client’s healthcare needs and living arrangements are essential, before a quote is given for home-based caring services?

In this day of quick-fix solutions, some things just need to take a little longer and be handled with more care.

When you invite someone into your home, because you need care, you are rendered vulnerable, and so we take all possible precautions to ensure a pleasant experience for both the client and the carer.

Caring With Heart is a caring business, in which the founder and director, is intimately involved in the daily operations of the business. We are not a recruitment agency! But a ‘caring business’.

There is therefore an attitude of concern and an ethic of care and understanding for each individual client and their specific circumstances and needs. This is not a ‘one-size-fits-all approach’, but rather an individually tailored solution that considers several factors which are critical to appropriate care and outcomes, including the circumstances under which each client functions and thrives.

Typically, Caring With Heart will visit the client in their home and conduct an assessment, prior to engagement, and obtain detailed information regarding their needs and expectations.

This assessment may include, among other issues:

  • Duration, scope and frequency of care

  • Health and Medical profile

  • Care preferences and expectations

  • Family situation, living and social arrangements

  • Affordability

These are all important as they define the role that the carer will play during the care period. It will also assist us in placing a suitably experienced and qualified carer with the client. In other words, we strive to match the client and carer as far as possible.

This approach is also important in establishing both ground rules and boundaries for the carer and for managing client expectations up-front. When someone needs care in their home, it can be daunting. Equally so for the carer, and so parameters and expectations are discussed and managed more easily if they are discussed in the initial engagements and not down the line.

Experience has shown that this approach to care works because it enables the carer, client and management to communicate openly, deal with expectations and provide a pleasant and worthwhile all-round-care experience.

Daily management and over-seeing, assists in dealing with challenges easily and timeously so that both client and carer are able to be comfortable with the arrangement. Our aim is to provide a truly caring and professional service.
